Overview

Super Mario Bros is a side-scrolling platform game where you control Mario (and occasionally Luigi) on a mission to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser. You’ll run, jump, defeat enemies, collect power-ups, and explore eight themed worlds filled with hidden blocks, warp zones, and challenging obstacles.

Power-ups hidden inside bricks and “?” blocks help you advance:

Red Mushroom – transforms Mario into Super Mario.
Fire Flower – grants fireball attacks as Fiery Mario.
Green Mushroom – awards an extra life.
Starman – provides brief invincibility.

Some stages shift the adventure underwater, where Mario swims past Bloobers and Cheep-cheeps. Each world ends with a castle guarded by fire bars, Podoboos, and Bowser himself. Defeat Bowser—by dropping him into the lava or blasting him with fireballs—and continue your quest to ultimately rescue Princess Toadstool.
